My gaming PC lives in a rack in my basement now in a 4u case. There is a 150ft optical hdmi cable running to the third floor, and a usb over cat6 cable returning control signals. I like how it is entirely silent to me, and does not warm my room
I have a near-identical setup, and it’s absolutely spectacular. The worst part was running conduit, since the layout of my home is such that I had to run conduit up from my office, run wire across the attic, then more conduit down the opposite exterior wall to my basement.
I'm in a 140 year old victorian. Getting cables through these walls is interesting
