Intel is fighting for its life

Moore's Law has died a slow death, first they stopped increasing the clock rate, then Intel went 5 years without a new process (but was more profitable than ever), now we are reaching the point where the cost/transistor will increase and that's basically the end because customers won't want to pay for it. I'm a little afraid that newer process chips like the Zen 4 CPU and 4080 GPU I installed might also have a shorter lifespan than earlier generation chips.
If processes are going to hit the wall it might not matter so much if you've got the latest process.
Second I think ARM chasing has been very bad for Intel, they have made a lot of awful chips that they only sold in China. On a bad day it seems Intel won't be done until they've degraded the performance of laptops to the phonish range. There used to be the fear that legacy companies would get "disrupted" because they did not keep up with cheap and cheerful new competitors but now we are seeing customers disrupt themselves by throwing existing customers because they don't want to be a case study for a Clayton Christiensen book but they are going to wind up being a case study in a new book instead.
