I think the argument is that OP wants the hammer factory to focus on making hammers. Reality is more subtle than that, but I have some sympathy for the argument.

When the Ukraine war broke out last year, several popular Rust packages were eager to proselytize about how much they support Ukraine. That turned me off. Apparently there is also a lot of LGBTQ activism in the official Rust foundation too, but I don't know much about it.

I think the OP meant this and that it's not like other languages are anti-LGBTQ or something.

As a gay man, I'm not especially concerned about the hammer factory being unwelcoming, but I'd still rather work for the one that has a non-discrimination policy and where I see employees are open about their sexuality.

I very much don't want to work in any professional setting where people are "open about their sexuality", hetero, gay or otherwise.

Do I mention going on a trip with my husband, or my spouse? That's what I mean about being open about my sexuality. Most people don't give that sort of thing a second thought.

Rust is nobody employer though
