Trying to upstream anything to the kernel is such a test of patience that rather than being glad a feature/fix has landed, I’m just happy for it to be over with. The Linux tooling and community is just not worth dealing with.
Is this "drive-by reviewer" someone important? Or a rando on the list?
It does seem like there've been more self important randos in the past few years - they give the most arrogant, presumptuous review feedback, but then you go and look and they've got 10 or 20 commits to their name.
Just something to watch for.
Of course it's the network subsystem. I've heard nothing but terrible stories from colleagues that have had to interact with those maintainers.
