Academics getting notices that access to Twitter API will be shut off

BTW “low usage” tier not for research is $100/mo but no one can get clarity since the forum is now behind a login no one knows how to get an account on.

After seeing a number of Twitter headlines, I'm sensing a pattern. One that companies like Computer Associates would use: buy a company and extract value from it until it dies. CA however did this in a profitable manner over a long period of time.

Twitter seems to be running the course of being bought high, and accelerating the death spiral to extract minimal value.
