Will Babies Exist?
Imagine AGI is here, now, would you still consider having human babies? why?
Reversing population decline is one of the hard challenges which few countries have ever even had the slightest hint of success doing - we are talking isolated episodic examples like Australia's McCrindle baby bonus and maybe Ceaucescu Romania - so we had better come to terms with growing human beings as a supplement to, if not replacement for, natural birth
Arguments that more babies will come:
* AI will help us become exponentially more efficient so one person can produce more, leading to more resources for more babies
Arguments that fewer babies will come:
* AI replaces everyone except the elites or those that control the AI
* AI will help us invent medicine that makes the existing population live longer or forever
At least directly. Theoretically, I guess, if AGI somehow precipitated a significant increase in global education levels and, especially, female education levels, then it would have an indirect effect on birth rates. But I'm not sure what that link from AGI to education would entail.
AGI comes, understands/processes/takes action on everything, including "Emotions" more efficiently than humans.
Gradually, Personal assistants ~morph~~ with us as they gain more capabilities
Babies become more like cats
just a dream~
