You need the bridge, but after that mutt’s standard IMAP configuration is usable. The key is that when you set your imap config you would do something like:

set folder=“imaps://127.0.0.1:1143/“

and for SMTP you would do something like:

set smtp_url="smtps://username@127.0.0.1:1025/"
