Project Description: D&D with less fighting and more trolley problems.
I'm building a non-combat focused TTRPG. Happy to give any HN readers a free account to play around with. There's no VTT element and there's no plan to build one; instead it's focused on group storytelling and logging the story, rather than combat and world management.
The world and rule set is very much built to be around levelling the playing field so the GM isn't expected to buy everything and be the centre of the world. Instead, players have as much agency as the GM does, and the world lore is free to access.

You're not wrong though. For anyone wondering, table-top role playing game.
But you are not worried that this can also act as an entry barrier/gatekeeping thing?
I'm building an app to track hiking, mountaineering, mountainbiking, trailrunning and skiing activities , including 3D visualization (I live in Switzerland, so it's usually always either up or down and that's hard to visualize on a 2D map) and easy comparison of past efforts on the same track.
It currently integrates Garmin and Polar devices.
Here's an example of what it looks like: https://cubetrek.com/view/6338

Project Description:
The idea is to replace lists with charts. Instead of sorting - say - monitors by price or size, on Product Chart you can sort them by both! And compare them on the resulting interactive scatterplot.
What do you want to be tested:
Imagine you were to buy a new Smartphone, Laptop, Tablet, Monitor, Camera, 3D Printer or Solid State Drive today. How would you go about it on Product Chart? Did you find a product that suits your requirements?
Contact Info: "hello" at the domain name.
Project description: I'm designing a custom filesystem with compression, error correction (with mirroring) & encryption.
The aim of the project is to have a filesystem with these features while remaining considerably simpler & easier to use than ZFS, btrfs etc. In particular, I aim to make it easy to use with removable media as I got a bunch of old drives that I don't want to have powered on 24/7.
I'm looking for people willing to test the filesystem. While the filesystem appears stable I believe more issues may pop up when used for long-term storage (e.g. backups). With more people using it I hope to find these issues quicker.
There are currently only (FUSE & tool/"mkfs") binaries for Linux[1]. If you want to test it but don't have a Linux installation, please let me know and I'll see if I can create a build for your OS.
Contact info: hn+nrfs@demindiro.com or on Github.
P.S.: Using a block size other than 12 is currently broken, so don't adjust that parameter when creating a filesystem.

Project description: Whenever I've applied for jobs, I found myself with a mess of emails and spreadsheets. It sort of worked, but also felt like it could have been better. The initial goal of Rolepad is helping job seekers manage their search process. Think an Applicant Tracking System but for the other side. You can also visualize your progress with a Sankey diagram and share it anonymously. Getting started is easy - account is created automatically with your first login.
How to test: use this as if you were looking for a job (bonus points if you are!) - would love to hear what you find useful, what's painful, what's missing. Try the diagram sharing functionality (maybe share the public link in a comment here!). Should be usable both from desktop and mobile.
Contact info: there is an in-app feedback page. If you really need email, you can find it on the homepage.
Love this idea BTW. I'd like to do a Show HN once v1 is ready, but happy to have folks get value from it already!
Project Description: A product discovery app that features highly curated lists of products via guides and an endless tiktok-esque feed to discover new and exciting products. The idea came from my wife always having trouble finding me gifts for special occasions like birthdays and currently searching "gifts for men" always suggests shot glasses, knives, or beard kits, which are things I don't want haha.
What do you want to be tested: Live data is not in the app yet (there's about 50 test products for now), trying to nail the experience first since it's a PWA and testing on various devices is hard. If you sign up, your data will likely be deleted by morning time as we're not even alpha yet. Just really curious to see if it works well on a variety of real world devices and also validate if it's something people would use.
Contact Info: contact@ado.xyz (if you want to chat about the app, collab, etc.)
As for the listings i would only use this if the products would be more "interesting". atm i was ony presented with the most bland and popular techbro gadgets.
i get that this is bc it is still in early stages but the variety and uniqueness of suggestions would be key IMO.
Same here.
If someone wanted a list of gift ideas, I'd give them access to my Youtube feed. Pretty much anything related to what you find there would feel personal.
Project Description: Team workflow software with the goal of becoming the #1 tool for getting shit done!
Example Use-cases:
- Visitor Management, e.g. replacement for Envoy (https://www.questmate.com/visitor-management)
- Async Team Standups (https://www.questmate.com/questmate-for-standups)
- Employee / Customer Onboarding
- Purchase Order / Approval Workflows
- Deployment checklists
You can pretty much use it for every recurring workflow you might have. From checkables, to form fields or fully automated steps.
What makes us different:
- Mobile-first, but equally awesome on desktop/web (thanks to RNW/Expo!)
- Extendable via custom scripts for powering custom Quest items, like dropdowns powered by data from Airtable, Google Sheets or giving control to your smart device (Philips Hue, Tesla, ..)
- Custom scripts to forward Quest data to Airtable, Google Sheets or really do anything else with the data
- Scheduling of Quests, Optional Approvals, List vs. Slidemode, Public Quests vs Assigned Quests, etc. etc.
P.S. Extendablity is powered by a service we productized for others to use as well to run 3rd party code fast & secure: https://www.scriptable.run

Project Description: A website builder that uses only SQL. A single binary that renders .sql files as web pages. Lets data analysts turn any database into a custom CRUD website.
What do you want to be tested: I want to know how easy it is to get familiar with the concept and build a website. Try to build a small website in 15 minutes and tell me if you encountered any roadblock. I'm planning to make Show HN shortly and would like to polish the dev experience first. Also, english is not my native tongue; let me know if there is any grammar mistake in the readme or the website.

Project description:
I've been working on a Bootstrap 5 landing page builder for almost 1 year now (mostly just weekends though).
The main USP of this builder is it's targeted more for developers and people who know what Bootstrap 5 is than just another website builder. Apart from the drag-n-drop builder, It has many ways to create websites and landing pages including a step by step wizard that generates a landing page after you answer a few simple questions, a GPT3 a.i. filler, etc.
Testing info:
If anyone has 5 minutes to spare and want to play with it I would really appreciate your good honest feedback about the builder and everything. No signup or cc is needed for trying by the way.

Project description: If you like (neo)vim and Nix, you might find this interesting: it’s a Nix-based Neovim development shell supporting a bunch of languages (with more to come!). LSPs are used with Neovim’s LSP support to give nice editing features, and treesitter is used for highlighting. Nix makes it possible to try out the shell with a single command (once you have Nix installed).

Project Description: Real-time organization and collaboration tool for structured note-taking, mind mapping, and outlining.
What do you want to be tested: We recently integrated OpenAI / GPT-3 into our collaborative editor to generate automated outlines and mind maps, but it is still a work in progress and with some bugs. Would love to get some feedback and help with testing and improving it. Here is a preview: https://www.taskade.com/blog/ai-outliner

Project Description: Infinitely nestable task management - break complex projects down into simple steps/tasks.

Project Description: We’re building a tool to design and run user state machines (we call these ‘flows’). It’s comprised of a shared canvas for modeling and versioning user flows, SDKs for instantiating those flows per user, and a platform to persist user flow state that handles migrating users between versions on the fly.
The SDK gives you hooks to manage state for each node (we call these ‘blocks’) and Dopt handles any side effects, transitioning all dependent blocks for you. Reactivity is also built in: those side effects on the user state graph, along with any others (e.g. updates to user properties or API invocations) are propagated in real time to the SDK.
We started Dopt because we’ve seen teams struggle when trying to build experiences that are contextual to what a user/workspace has done (e.g. product onboarding and education flows). Doing so requires modeling user state graphs in the DB, migrating the schema/data across versions of the graph, tying in product state to state outside of the product, and lots of back and forth with product and design.
What do you want to be tested: We're looking for more folks building with Dopt during our private beta. We're giving the product away for free during this period and cutting discounts for folks that build with us now once we go GA.
Contact: info@dopt.com (or you can sign up for the beta on the website and reply letting us know you found us on Hacker News to skip the line)
So maybe having a great onboarding on your own website would be a good way of showing that your product is great.
We do have an interactive example gallery that we're building out for the reason you call out, would love any feedback you have on them: https://www.dopt.com/examples
Earlybird is a simple and intuitive landing page builder designed specifically for small businesses and creators looking to validate their ideas in the early stages of product/business development. We also offer a Stripe connect for users who want to collect payments through their landing pages.
Some common use cases for Earlybird include:
/ Idea validation: Entrepreneurs and startups can use the product to create landing pages to gauge interest in their products and test their market fit.
/ Lead generation: Small business owners can use the product to create one pagers to collect leads.
/ Pre-orders: Small business owners can use our platform to create pre-order landing pages, allowing customers to place an order and reserve their spot in line before the product is available for sale.
/ Digital product launches: Create landing pages to sell/launch digital products, such as ebooks and software keys, helping to build awareness and generate sales.
Testing: Sign up is free and no CC required. We'd to like hear feedback on usability and the features we offer. We also review feature requests routinely at https://earlybird.canny.io/

I am building a tool that lets you do all of the above from a single place. If you're an engineer or data scientist who has found himself/herself juggling multiple tools to get simple answers from data, you're my target audience. As a beta tester, you'll get a lifetime free subscription, and your feedback will help me shape the app.
You can reach me at my email (hi [at] shubhamjain.co). You can also fill the Subscribe form on the website and I'll reach out to you.
Description: Website that makes it easy to discover how cities, towns and zip codes in the USA are changing. Useful for finding towns and neighborhoods you might want to live or invest in.

Project description: Ant Commander Pro is a file manager for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
Compared to other file manager, this one is more developer oriented: basic Git support, syntax highlighting for source code, multiple shells included, can run embedded in IntelliJ IDEA and some other IDE's.
One of the main goal is efficiency: there is no search dialog, just a search field (e.g. "*/.java & < 1 day & >5kb"), possible file conflicts are analyzed before the operation begins, ...
After the installation, it's fully functional for at least one day, then you can fill in a form to get a free beta license key on the website.

Project Description: This is an AI-powered programming tool that creates and updates simple web pages and applications based on natural language instructions.
Its applying ChatGPT-like models (e.g. text-davinci-003/code-davinci-002 from OpenAI) for programming with the admittedly ambitious goal of trying to help users who are technical but non-programmers.
It has preliminary knowledgebase support, templates, the ability to edit and resubmit list of commands to refine them, and hosting for web pages.
NOTE: I actually need at least another 3 days before I can get the new dialog-based version out, and then I will be looking for beta testers again. I already know that the current format is not something most users really can handle. The new version will issue the "metacommands" for the user.
When I finally get this release out, I will be looking to hear about bugs and also any and all feedback or advice on how it can be made more useful for specific projects. In particular I am hoping that at some point people who are into "no code" or "low code" will be able to use it for some things. So if anyone normally uses those types of tools it would be nice to hear some specific use case and what it would take to meet that or an attempt to apply the tool.
The next release after this one will be big for increasing the utility because I plan if possible to integrate with fly.io so people can use the AI to iteratively build and deploy web applications that have a back end. Although I might do subdomains first. Or maybe need to work on something more tedious like automatically detecting incomplete replies that need to be continued.
Contact: jason@aidev.codes or ideally just click the Discord link in the upper-right hand corner.
If you mean in the HN comment, I deliberately did not create an advertisement here but rather a technical request for beta testers since that is what this thread is about.
But in general that's great to have the reminder to make some marketing copy and put it on the website at some point. Right now just trying to make the basic concept actually work which is one of the hardest tasks that anyone on the planet has taken up with LLMs.
Project Description: We make it possible to send crypto ($ or NFTs) with just a link.
How to test: Connect your wallet and try sending some small $ amount to your friends :)
Also would love any type of feedback! What features would you like to see, what integrations do you are possible with these type of magic links?
thanks!

Thanks in advance
