Why would you not want to hire someone that uses tools that make them productive?

Do you also require code be written on notepad.exe on a monochrome display or am I allowed to use autocompleting IDEs? Where do you draw the line on computer assisted text editing?

It looks like they are doing quite fine on their own…

I'm sure at some point, everyone just assumed programming would always be done on punch cards and vacuum tubes.
