Interesting at a core, but I'm too fickle to browse a site that looks like it was made to intentionally be a painful viewing experience.

Then you'll hate the homepage[0] which features a tit (bird) flying off after the page rendered. That's the default theme, though -- you can switch themes using the animated glasses button in the lower-left of the homepage.

Oh c'mon it doesn't even spread its wings when flying away, the sprite is just moved and scaled.

I really find is so much better this way.

I did try browsing around and changing the themes before making that comment, but the only theme for me was pain.

Then it’s not for you! That’s okay!

So what happened to the whole "websites used to be a lot more creative in the '90s" thing. A website shows some creativity for once and we immediately shun it. We can't have it both ways...

Quoting https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html:

Please don't complain about tangential annoyances—e.g. article or website formats, name collisions, or back-button breakage. They're too common to be interesting.

Am I over simplifying or does this in general do the same thing with some help from imagemagick on linux with /dev/fb?

    convert -size $(tr ',' 'x' < /sys/class/graphics/fb0/virtual_size) -depth 8 bgra:/dev/fb0 snap.png

The aesthetics of this site are incredible. I can't tell if it's intentionally mid-late 90s (a la lingcars.com), or not. I find it very hard to read, but very entertaining at the same time.

Very interesting post, and refreshing presentation/formatting too, great job!

Meta: it would be good to have "OpenBSD" in the title, it's not obvious to me and it might help readers decide on whether or not it sounds interesting quicker.

This is neat tech. I'm only a little bummed that the two options are "text without formatting" and "raster graphics without text data", though. SVG's right there! You can background the raster image and write equivalent text over it.

EDIT: Just remembered this one weird trick, https://github.com/nbedos/termtosvg

It would be good if in the title or clearly in the intro it is explained what wscons is, and make clear that it's an OpenBSD thing.

Or use tmux https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/236845

This page gives me such a headache, but I absolutely love it.
