We both evolved from a common ancestor - we wouldn’t share so much DNA otherwise.
We didn't evolve from apes, we are apes. Apes is a group that encompasses animals including gorillas, bonobos, humans and other animals.
At least we are 'greater apes' not just apes
Yeah but so are gorillas.
What else might we have evolved from?
Parallel evolution? Incredibly unlikely, but possible. I'd like to think my great great grand daddy might be a mollusk with some wicked genetic mutations.
