VE Text Editor

Really? When I open a file, nine times out of ten I'm modifying it in some specific location that's definitely not the start of the file, and the first thing I need to do is navigate, which is what Normal mode is for (among other things).

About the only time I fire up an editor and face a blank file is when I'm writing prose, which is definitely not the majority of time I'm spending in Vi/Vim.

If it is just a hobby, why not open source it?

I know of one “freeware” package whose author unexpectedly died. His wife didn’t know the password to his computer so now the source is lost forever.

So, some of us who have been burned enough times are averse to proprietary software and would try to avoid using anything that we can't see the code to.

A link to a 5 word comment isn't particularly helpful.

Especially when they can see the comment on the screen (on a phone) already.
