Ask HN: Is the Secret of Elon Musk's Success Stanford University?

He dropped out after 2 days https://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-elon-musk-dropped-stanfor...

Musk also claims he has various degrees, which isn't true and makes him more a pretender than genius https://twitter.com/capitolhunters/status/159330754193247436...

yeah, i mean, but he got in.

and actually graduating from college, when you're in the right social class, is kind of like...

really? what's wrong with you? how bad of an entrepreneur _are_ you that you actually graduated from college?

and then he was, either before or after, surrounded by stanford people.

just an idea.

His inherited millions and network might have helped.

Exactly, the actual source of his success is Glendale Community College

I’d say that speaks well for Glendale then doesn’t it?

Maybe it speaks for generational wealth during the dot-com bubble and doing amoralistic business with autocrats, but I don't know, I'm certainly not as rich as mr Musk.

Amoralistic? Autocrats? Not knowing your age, I’ll not assume it, but you do know that the Fed precipitated the dot com bubble?
