What If Diversity Trainings Are Doing More Harm Than Good?

Depends on the training. If you're going to tell me "Watch out for these things that people do without thinking that offend or discriminate", OK, I'll listen. But if you're going to tell me that all whites have inherent racism just from being white, no, I'm not going to put up with you. Take your racism somewhere else. If you're lying about me and stereotyping me, I'm not going to decide that your position is right, and I'm not going to become your ally.

Isn't this the point? Reliably, after diversity trainings White and Asian coworkers will tell me they feel alienated. Many South Asians in particular are ... whatever the opposite of woke is. A chud? Pretty traditional w/r/t gender roles, for example.

It always felt like a reminder that you're not supposed to have any politics at tech companies that aren't authleft. I thought that was the real point? To enforce that clade?
