I think this is the one ReviewGeek just debunked https://www.reviewgeek.com/142496/why-the-heck-is-amazon-sel...

And similar to the one TechRadar got taken off of Amazon months ago. https://www.techradar.com/news/this-fake-16tb-external-ssd-i... Guess Amazon didn't think it was important to keep these off the marketplace.

Between Amazon's useless search and how accommodating Amazon is to scammers (listing swaps for reviews), it's hard to not imagine that some Amazon hoo-haw has deep and personal loathing for each+every customer.

Just a heads up, this is probably fake. Lots of no-name brands advertising ludicrously good price/perf that are really just like 256mb or 4gb flash chips modded to say that they're 16tb or whatever crazy amount advertised, that will just overwrite old data past the actual storage limit.

> 256mb or 4gb flash chips

This drive is a 64GB microSD so it's like an upgrade from those previous scams!

Amazon got called out on the scam in ReviewGeek. Amazon's response:

"We do not allow product listings to be taken over or incorrect information to be listed, and we have zero tolerance for fake reviews. We have clear policies that prohibit reviews abuse, and we suspend, ban, and take legal action against those who violate these policies and remove inauthentic reviews. The items in question did violate our policies and they have been removed."

In this case Amazon didn't even bother to remove the listing before issuing this truth-challenged rebuttal.

Who cares? There's a half-million fake products on Amazon, it's not the end of the world.

> it's not the end of the world.

True. Not the end of the world. Just the serial erasure of trust and good will on a massive scale.

To work around Amazon, find that thing you want then locate the official brand name site and follow the links to partner alliance reseller sites but still keep an eye out for smells of tricksters and scammers.

Yeah, right. How about ordering a pack of 10,000mAh AA batteries with it and a sturdy suspension bridge in New York?
