TikTok slapped with $5.4M fine over cookie opt-out feature

Negligible fine. The time I took to write this comment is the same amount it took them to earn back 5.4mill USD.

I don't know what the process was and why it took so long, but wow, the CNIL has been on fire the last few months. Google, Facebook, now Tiktok...

I hope the other, smaller companies who blatantly violate the GDPR with their "If you're reading this message and you're not going away you're giving us consent to spy on you" banners see the writing on the wall and start actually complying.

I see bleepingcomputer.com themselves are not yet in compliance.
