Happy enough with my Altair-Duino, which is (pretty much) cycle accurate -- maybe a bit faster than the real thing... (2.5Mhz, perhaps).

This is a program that should execute in 5 seconds on a 2MHz 8080 -- pretty much 10,000,000 cycles (cycle times on the right). As to CP/M... Microsoft did produce software for CP/M (8080 and/or Z80) -- Macro Assembler, Fortran, COBOL, BASIC and BASIC compiler and some applications. Spreadsheet, SORT, EDIT (a VERY limited implementation of TOPS-10 SOS -- no line moving, for example). If anyone has seen, or has a copy of the CP/M Microsoft SORT utility... please preserve that artifact.
[1] is not only a replica, it is much more. For example, the project demonstrates an interesting concept of a networked desktop that can be accessed using any web browser.
It is available but I'm not sure why him not knowing about it is supposed to be some gotcha or something anyone should care about?
It's all in the first comment.....
