Now, are we talking Davy Crockett or Tsar Bomba? I mean an atom bomb is an atom bomb but that's still six orders of magnitude difference. Ah, Hiroshima. Cliche. If we upgrade to Tsar Bomba we could say "like detonating the largest nuclear device every 8 minutes" but that doesn't sound as impressive as five every second.
Coincidentally, it's around the peak power of one large hurricane. Hmm. That might have been a better thing to compare to. And still make the point, too. It's like the energy of an entire hurricane going 24/7/365. Of course, almost no one, except weirdos like me, has an ability to contextualize how much energy that is (and only very barely; I've never experienced either an atom bomb or a hurricane). So I guess we should go with the one that sounds scarier? Atomic climate apocalypse!
