Is there actually any evidence that wealth, particularly at high levels, grows linearly alongside political influence? For instance, is someone like Steve Ballmer, worth $75 billion 75x more influential in Washington than Tiger Woods worth $1 billion?

That doesn't seem to be the case to me at all.
