I would be interested when you deploy the desktop app. I wonder if something like a browser extension would be a good fit here to offload the manual file download step.

hamsterbase supports singlefile. You can save web pages directly with singlefile. You can see the documentation below
We don't have an Apple developer account yet, so we have this problem. We won't have this problem once we have the mac app store up.
