Looks good for PoE cameras where security is important and wireless is an anti-feature due to deauth attacks and insecure radio basebands.
Hopefully it ships. There's a bit of a backlog of cores announced >1 year ago that are still nowhere to be seen. (ex: ESP32-C5 and -C6 with 802.11ax.)
By dropping WiFi and BT, they can use a different production process in other foundry's.
I'd love to know what kind of nodes various bits of wifi hardware so use. And what nodes existing (all wireless capable) Espressif chips are on.
Lots of RAM and a DAC, great for VGA.
But no wifi?
note: they decided not to included wifi or bt
I realize that the answer is in a way "yes." But, if you can only choose one, wouldn't someone working with RISC-V be looking at security over Wi-Fi?
I was just noting it because it's notable.
