Stanford distances itself from now-viral ‘harmful language’ list

Yeah, that list was quite enlightening for me as a non-native English speaker but some did feel quite ridiculous.

Edit: does anyone have the list? because going to http://web.archive.org/web/20221219160303/https://itcommunit... loads the page but the actual terms don't show up. just the sections.

This is why I say we should all have personal archives, sometimes not even they waybackmachine can help.

Even if someone agreed with the premise of censorship or deplaforming, the list itself was very absurd. It was very arbitrary in that several common words were banned but chosen seemingly at random. Moreover, there was no ordering to the bans meaning "possibly offensive in an alternate universe" words were grouped with "even racists won't say this!" words
