Maybe a more apt analogy: why can't children watch 2 consenting adult strangers have sex? Why can't they enter a strip club? Why does a digital screen between them and the action make it acceptable?
Yes, it does abuse people. I do not think any reasonable person thinks it's good for children to be watching sexualized, humanoid, animals engaging in various sexual acts as being okay. I don't think it's good for adults either as it blurs the line and promotes depravity, encouraging attraction to animals or animalistic things.
