Living with Wolves

The author worked at a wolf sanctuary where pet wolves and wolf/dog breeds were kept. Cool, but not actually living with wolves.

I live in a rural place with wolves. (I live in town) Not that the author implies this, but you absolutely would not interact with them as she did when they make their semi-monthly circuit that takes them to the outskirts of town.

> resume once-outlawed hunting practices that brought the predators to the brink of extinction by the 1960s

This isn't exactly true. I've spoke with old timers who used to kill wolves and the folks who currently try to. The old timers used indiscriminately poison and killed everything to great success, the current folks use snares and rifles and aren't very successful at all. Wolves are cagey creatures that aren't all that easy to find or trick.
