I just cant wait to see Netflix start pushing 4 x 400Gbps / 1.6Tbps per Box.

I wonder by the end of this decade, PCI-E 7.0 ( 6.0 has already been finalised ), if we could fit 1.6Tbps in a single Transceiver. Serving 6.4 Tbps per box. ( Likely to be either CPU or Memory bound )

Very likely there will be a 1.6T DR4 module in QSPFP-DD/OSFP form factor before 2030 that targets data center interconnects (< 120km). The technology (mostly) exists at this point, though the thermal density and die area pose some challenges.
