Good bit of history, and definitely a lot about terminals that I didn’t know, or things that filled in the “why” of some things I did know (^Q/^S for example).
Some things that poked me while reading: * varying use of “encrypt” and “encode” for transmitting data; suggest sticking with encode/decode * mention of Intel x87 when I think you probably meant x86
