Not only will this give consumers a measure of recourse when they are ripped off by sellers, it will give vendors and manufacturers a clearer idea of which of their distributors and retailers are violating their vendor agreement. Those that wish to better enforce MAP and other terms of their agreement will have the information to do so.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing we'll find out many vendors prefer to be ignorant (and theoretically powerless) as long as they move units.
