Can You Recommend a Toaster?

I am looking for a toaster with a specific requirement : I want the bread-holding grid inside the toaster to be able to handle bread of all sizes not have to go fishing for a piece of burnt bread in the depths of the toaster. Although it seems like a very reasonnable requirement, I have not been able to find any one like that in Europe. Where else to ask if not on HN ?

This isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, but a few months ago we had to buy a new toaster oven and I went online to find reviews. They pointed me, surprisingly, to an infrared toaster oven by Panasonic (this one: https://shop.panasonic.com/kitchen-and-home/kitchen-applianc...). It is phenomenal. Fast, even toasting and even baking. The controls kinda suck—they feel like they’re from the 1970s—but it works incredibly well.

Tip for crappy membrane input like microwave ovens, you can buy little silicone half dome feet that stick over the pads and make them much more tactile and easy to press.

I've put one over the "start" button on my microwave as it will do 1 minute increments which is fine for heating up water and other stuff.

At least it's no touchscreen. Happy to read about auto shut off else one is bound to burn some bread with that. I see two caveats : 1. You have to flip your bread if you want to toast both side. 2. It's a bit big for an appartment the size of mine

Not recommending anything, but there is a particular design of toasters with a sliding tray, search for "Arzum Firrin Toaster".

The generic name should be "tunnel toaster".

I did not expect that ! Quite an interesting design. Thank you.

Just buy an oven toaster.

Is it me or there's a smell floating around ? Oh crap, I forgot the...

Idk what did you forget? The oven toasters have a timer did you remember to turn off the oven burner?
