Google reshuffles to meet ChatGPT threat and Sundar's not having a happy holiday

I've become more and more frustrated with Google. It ignores more and more of your query showing you only vaguely related content that is mostly blogspam. I don't think it is an easy problem but I'd love to see them really try and innovate.
It is clear to me that ChatGPT isn't a search engine replacement. But I see a lot of valuable properties. It is much better at reacting to the full context and smaller details of the "query". It can also pull together, summarize and personalize the response very well rather than just simple snippets. I think if you could teach it to cite sources it would be a powerful research tool. The resulting UI could even end up similar to what Google has now, a summary at the top and links/references below.
The second thing that I expect to upset the entire tech industry is a global economic slowdown. People are good at prioritizing scant personal economic resources when pushed against a wall, and will avoid unnecessary expenses.
