Pre-emptively exposing my bias: speaking as someone who advises CTOs and mentors people at work when they ask, I suspect the answer is no. People in our industry often feel like getting a mentor / coach is somehow an acknowledgement of failure, that it’s a sign you don’t know what you’re doing. Even if it’s true, people don’t want to admit it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same mentality operates with surgeons, but even more so.
