I recently installed Twitter and started following /r/popular on Reddit. To say it made me depressed and personally offended is an understatement. It’s a proliferation of cynicism, negativity, insulting and putting others down.
My advice is unless you think you’re in some position to change this (I have no idea how), it’s better to stay far away from this noise. The toxic culture is a plague, and I felt it actively brought down my mood, affected my productivity, and engagement with friends and family.
