Kotaku has been quite critical of the use of AI-generated art in commercial projects. They argue that AI art is going to destroy the livelihoods of human artists. It seems that the video game industry is quite willing to replace artist with algorithm (treating them quite poorly to begin with).
I fear that it is not just a question of treating right or wrong but also of convenience. I cannot draw a tree to save my live, but I can have great fun with StableDiffusion. The sense of creation and wonder is just to nice to pass on.
