This is some more of that free speech absolutism we've been hearing about. Flight paths that are public are protected by freedom of speech up to and including a court decision. Yet it's fine to have tons of white supremacy tweets and loaded threats and slanderous tweets about people without any issues.

Excuse me...are you expecting sober and logically consistent behavior from Elan Musk???

He is likely hoping the courts change course if he brings up safety and terrorism. He may not be wrong as the Supreme Court has changed longstanding decisions on larger topics recently.

You have a point. The current SCOTUS majority is only paying attention to stare decisis/precedent when it's convenient for their agenda

Musk must know that this is public information in the first place, he can't not know that ADS-B exists.

He doesn't care. He's hoping the threat of a lawsuit is scary enough. The guy should start a fund raiser. Maybe they could preempt this by suing Musk first and get a nice liberal judge. The advantage Musk would have by suing first is finding a corrupt Trump-appointed district.

Musk has gone full Trump - shame is no longer in his vocabulary.

Look how many people are talking about him. Like Trump, he's won.

Won what? Ahole of the year?

quantified is implying, and he's not totally wrong, that Musk gets enjoyment out of being in the spotlight, regardless the reason. Probably some truth to it, surely seems that way.

the best highest form of psychopathy has become kind of apparent: those who convince themselves they and they alone stand between salvation of this planet & oblivion/ruin.

no matter what people say or think, you can wrap the warm blanket of self-delusion around yourself & be convinced your ultimate cause is all that matters. this is near-kin to the wonderful Disco Elysium character attribute, Inland Empire. no external sources are required, you have a diverse & flourishing internal world you can always turn to supply yourself.

You got it. "What an a-hole" only scores even more points.

Trump won in the short-term and long-term will have lost big. It’s not a strategy one should employ.

Some say he's the biggest sore loser in American history.

And... let's see what's in store for Elon. He's at least seems to be a bit smarter to start with, but he's like the biggest glue manufacturer on earth beginning to get high on his own supply.

He does, they banned ADSBExchange and others for just having an account.

Deep pocketed rich guy threatening a cannot afford a law suit average guy.

All that guy has to do is show up in court without a lawyer and say he's protected under settled law and court cases. I assume the ACLU or similar will back him if he asks for their help. It's almost certain any judge this comes before will toss it out based on the 1st amendment and precedent.
