Not only that, but he suspended the creator's personal account too: https://twitter.com/JxckSweeney, alt: https://grndcntrl.net/links

It seems that he also asked Flightradar24 to remove it: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n628ts, alt: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=a835af

I mean, that's one hell of an about face from his November 6th tweet.

It is pretty common for private planes to be removed from Flight Radar and other websites - the FAA allows owners to request this and publishes a list for companies to consume.. it was likely gone from there for a long time. But the data is still broadcast as the plane flies and some sources don't filter them out such as ADSB Exchange (https://globe.adsbexchange.com/)

Interesting! The list can be accessed here: https://laddlist.com/table

This is so similar to a "snafu" that Travis County, Texas (Austin), committed for several years: certain VIP citizens (e.g. elected officials) could have their property records removed from public tax databases (for privacy), but then published the list of people requesting this removal (with the address in cleartext).

OOps.

An impressive about-face by Elon, after specifically noting that his commitment to free speech extended to the ElonJet account.

So much free speech, that you can't even mention the account.

Didn’t he just say if you’re banned, you’ll get the exact reason why and how to appeal? Lot of lip service from Elon lately.

Charlatan gonna Charlatan

There must be some kind of a "ShitElonDoes" subreddit that would be more appropriate for this endless stream of Elon related spam.

You are thinking of EnoughMuskSpam

yikes. this is not good look. just let it go, elon

People are literally posting links to the Instagram page in the comments on this tweet.[0] This is fake.

No, there are numerous reputable accounts posting screenshots confirming this. Seems like it is not rolled out to all users yet.

Edit: Just tested it myself, confirmed.

Right because Elon is such a genius that of course he wouldn't just block links to the Twitter account he suspended and not also block links to an Instagram profile. :eyeroll:

The faster people stop being surprised, the better. I don't want to be too bold, but it's increasingly obvious that he's in the "double down on everything, at all costs, lest his ego explode" mindset. Interestingly, not terribly dissimilar from some OTHER richy-richy types lately that have lost all touch with public perception.

From https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/personal-info...

"live location information, including information shared on Twitter directly or links to 3rd-party URL(s) of travel routes, actual physical location, or other identifying information that would reveal a person’s location, regardless if this information is publicly available;"

Posting links to other websites that may enable sharing Elon's location is now a bannable offense.

I would probably add that sharing anybody's live location is now a bannable offense. While the timing of rule change is clearly Elon case-driven, the rule itself makes sense to me: we wouldn't want to broadcast people's live physical location to all kids of people on the Internet, would we?

Of course it‘s a good rule.

It is also at the same time contrary to everything he‘s said before about how he would run twitter - hell, he called this account out specifically as one he would not ban because he is oh so committed to free speech.

It will also not be enforced against anyone except if you‘re sharing the location of Elon, of a billionaire buddy of his, or kick up enough of a stink that it‘s a PR issue.

LibsofTikTok should be banned then. The problem with this "rule" is it's only for Elon's location, not everyone else. It's okay if you harass people at an adults only drag show but you can't harass Elon.

Ah ok. I guess maybe this change kicked in after they posted.

It's easy to see what happened here, and why you and @sarahdcady might be confused.

In the tweet she replies to, the blocked URL is:

  https://instagram.com/elonmuskjet

In her own tweet, the URL she successfully posts is:

  https://www.instagram.com/elonmusksjet/?igshid=Zjc2ZTc4Nzk=

So it appears that Twitter has specifically blocked the URL "https://www.instagram.com/elonmusksjet", rather than any URL that contains that string.

Edit: Confirmed by a tweet that replied to the link you posted[1].
