YouTube spam comments are out of control. Many comments with 1000s of upvotes

I rarely get comments on anything I post to YT, despite getting views, especially because I don't really comment on my posts myself.

I rarely like to comment on anything because of all of the useless notifications that come from making comments.

Paty of me thinks that most comments are just friends in post circles boosting each others posts and bot activity. The participation/engagement driven model of social media totally encourages fake comments that ruins any relevance and value they once had.

Looking through reddit posts is also becoming a process of weeding through excessive amounts of spam comments and joke comments just to get context as well. I'm pretty sure all this activity will eventually begin to corrupt vital resources over time too.

The content is extremely controversial, yes. But check all the scammers in the comment section. It‘s truly mindblowing.
