There's been some very interesting advances made with ICF (insulated concrete forms). If you live in a natural disaster prone area and are building from scratch, I'd check them out.

Sprinklers slow fire spread in buildings that are properly constructed. If fire can spread inside the walls and above ceilings a sprinkler is not going to do much.

We have sprinklers in the space above the ceiling too, which I presume is building code. The walls a sealed.

I meant in regards to the article mentioning the need for fire blocking and other additional work to prevent spread of fires in walls.

Take a look at Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs). They can incorporate diverted waste styrofoam, bulk mycelium, or maybe even biocomposite lattices.

True but concrete would fix this too, without the sprinklers.

This is why insurance costs more for sprinkler buildings.
