Ask HN: Learning Ladder Logic and PLC Programming

I have done back end work in ruby, python, perl for years. And I've interfaced with devices over serial. I've played with an arduino a little as well. However an opportunity has presented itself for me to get into industrial automation with PLCs. Anyone have any book recommendations or otherwise regarding how to get my feet wet in this discipline?
