This this the only song by him I know and own. My understanding is, at one point it was a late night (read: early morning) favorite at NYC's Paradise Garage and similar venues when it was released.

It was most famously sampled:

Amazing either way.

I wasn't aware of the Sueño Latino track, nice one. Thanks!

You should check out the entire album E2-E4, it's a beautiful journey.

I have the 12", and maybe the CD of all the versions. Amazing stuff.

it was sampled in a whole bunch of tunes

code 718 - equinox - https://youtu.be/Ffal9nAd1Sg

MOTU - Do You Want Me (Disco Latino Mix) - https://youtu.be/QV02KvyNQb8

paperclip people (carl craig) - remake uno - https://youtu.be/BdSFKvnpu2Y

That's great music; here is the same piece on the apparently re-mastered anniversary edition: https://www.ashra.com/mp3/1a61e201.mp3

I wonder if Larry Levan was the dj playing it at PG?

I believe he was.

RIP - my coding playlist is filled with his work, love all the Ashra & Ash Ra Tempel material too.

RIP. I used to listen to E2-E4 while playing chess. His music was very entrancing.
