Well I don't think filtered cigarettes are actually a safety improvement in general. They were only ever a marketing gimmick
Non-filter cigarette smokers are 40% more likely to develop lung cancer and almost twice as likey to die from cancer than filtered cigarette smokers.

I wonder how many people want THC but never wanted to smoke in the first place?
Inhaling that amount of burnt stuff regardless of source is just not good for you.
And unlike tobacco, safer alternatives exist -- vaping doesn't require combustion, and edibles obviously carry no risk from inhalation.
