The headline is bullshit. It’s one of dozens of possible measures, it’s a limit only on non-essential trips, and it’s included only in the worst of several levels, which is unlikely to ever be activated.

Some of the other Escalation Level 3 measures include limiting streaming to standard definition resolution, limiting washing machines to 40º, banning the operation of leaf blowers and patio heaters, and turning off heaters in chair lifts.

Its time the EV people made a friend with the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) people. Go on joint shopping trips, and carpool to work.
