I doubt it was PID 1, but I saw RMS' laptop almost 30 years ago and I think it booted into Emacs...

When I hung out with him ~4 years ago, it booted into what might have been GNOME or XFCE, but he did spend a lot of time using emacs in a TTY.

When I hung out with him last year, he was fixing an Emacs bug on a field notes notebook.

He’s close to the average life expectancy for a human male; I’m curious what his plan is regarding the succession of his love for eMacs.
