What a stupide and offensive article. It would be like saying US supports Russia by buying its Soyouz rocket to fuel the ISS. You guys are usually way more clever and subtile to lower yourself in such brainless analysis about international dependency of strategic industries. A french guy !

No, it is more like saying Europe supports Russia’s war machine by buying its gas.

In France WE used to think that trade softens the moods. It's funny because two century ago France did a volt face on that idea and forces Europeans countries not to trade with thé british. The britts are trying to do the same volt face today whereas they were during all that time the perfect defendeur of the free World, the free trade and the end of the History bullshit idea : it should be now your whole ideology to rebuild I guess.

I wish you the best of luck on that quest and at the same time I hope you will not forget you are just an island : so do not be too bolsy on that move, it could backfire a bit.

If buying stuff from Russia is 'funding Putin's war effort' then every member of the NATO is currently guilty of it, including the United States, who I understand also continue to buy nuclear fuel from Russia. This is the reality of globalism, a n economic philosophy aggressively promoted by the West, and which the West continues to be the main beneficiary

I don't know about the Telegraph's motives, but it's in line with the other narratives around Russia's attack on Ukraine. It was interesting to me because I'd brought it up on HN some time ago because the overwhelming sentiment was that countries like Germany to crazy to rely on Russian gas, but Russia is also a big player in the uranium business. And would be even more so if everyone had a nuclear plant per million people like France has.
