Discord's New “Free” Badge

That amazing discord... Does the EU directive about the technical interoperability with some other communication protocols apply to them?

We could start with simple, common, stable in time, open and free (as in freedom, aka no royalties or similar things, even in barbaric countries) communication protocols and an account creation and verification process which works with noscript/basic (x)html browsers.

There is IRC which can be simply extended to perform the signaling part for the setup of video/audio conf calls, I guess (no traffic relays, only direct to direct connections to makes things simple enough, with optional end-to-end encryption). There is also XMPP. And what about SIP?

Is this me or those guys think nobody will react to the wrong they are doing to internet?

Apparently Discord is back with another badge, this one being for developers with applications that have been used "recently". But, anyone can get it whether they're a developer or not.

The badge should be slightly higher to get - or just not exist at all.
