Netflix CEO calls resisting ads a mistake

For a premium content provider, ads are a non-starter, here it almost seems like they've oriented themselves towards being a content-shop that just creates some minimum vehicle that gets people to watch ads, before actually having ads.
I also feel like the long-term math is off. There are movies that came out in the early 2000s which I have never seen that I still have a sense of (and would consider watching) because I remember the ads for them when they came out. With Netflix now if I dont care enough to watch something when it first comes out then in even 3 years its going to have no appeal.
