If it was so easy, why didn't you get a First? Sounds like you chose low standards for yourself.

I addressed that above:

"Of course, I should have worked harder, and I would have learned more if I had..."

My point (which I thought I'd made clearly) is that it was far, far too easy to do well, with little effort.

My point is that by your own admission, a 2:1 requires little effort and therefore is not to be considered "doing well".

Or that his standards weren't the kind measured by a "First".
