Can anyone comment on the reliability of a setup like that? I've used OpenMediaVault for a few years and I've had terrible network reliability. I believe that it's basically just a GUI on top of those packages, eh?

Been using a combination of TrueNAS and Debian+ZFS for a long time providing backup services for both production and non-production (personal) systems. As mentioned above, I am using TrueNAS v13 as a Time Machine repository server for 3 Mac laptops at home.

Are you using WiFi or wired network connectivity using OMV?

The OMV is wired but my computer is wireless, though it’s within 2 meters of the router.
