Musk says Twitter signups at all-time high, touts features of “everything app”

I saw this described as "Man whose house is on fire, responds to all the onlookers and gawkers by saying 'this is the most people I've ever had over'".

I’m choosing to interpret this as

Musk says “Twitter signups”, at all-time high; touts features of ‘everything app’.

Because the man is clearly high, we know he gets high, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he was currently at an all-time high right now, just like he was when he said he’d buy Twitter.

I'm very suspicious of this. I signed up over a month ago to check it out before the takeover. I quickly tried to delete my account, but that request has been ignored now for over a month.

I would not be surprised if that is the least shady way Musk has gotten "signups at all-time high".

I am planning a Show HN thread where I explain how to best experience twitter - use the HN search for "twitter" or "musk", sort the results by date. then only read and reply to comments on HN, DO NOT click through to the clickbait.

this is the most constructive way to experience twitter, you get the features of HN, with slightly less toxicity, without playing into the social media trap ( assuming HN is less harmful than the big socials)
