Mac has a built in app called Screen Sharing that requires VNC to be setup and running on your Nuc. I did the same thing in fact. I wasn't able to find another way that was superior and the experience wasn't bad.
I am not affiliated with them but have used them for years and have generally been very happy with it.
Plus you can share drives and USB devices over network.
