US citizen here, in fact I've always lived near the middle of north America, so I may be operating out of complete ignorance...

I thought this was the point of Brexit, to reset and reorient UK economy. I could be snarky and hint that a return to ascendance of a hereditary aristocracy is a secondary goal, but now that I think a little, that's implicit in the kind of reorientation that must take place.

Of course, ''experts'' tell us it's the fault of Brexit and not shutting down much of the world economy and endless pointless spending over the flu.

I know about many small businesses (e.g. producing food) that find it prohibitive to export to the EU now. Tories say ‘export to developing countries’ but that is not as lucrative a market as the EU. The world is definitely not flat, countries almost always trade more with the neighbors rather than other countries unless that neighbor is North Korea.
