When I Google “midterm election results”, the Associated Press tells me it’s 48-48. Can someone help me understand why this article is saying that the democrats have 50/51?

Is it just assuming that the races that haven’t concluded are so heavily leaning democrat that they will finish in that direction?

So the endless wars will continue. Oh well, if that’s what the people want. At least we had 4 years with no new wars.
